Can hypnosis help me with my problems?

Hypnosis is a state of highly focused concentration, and is a safe, proven and highly effective tool, which enables you to tap into your unconscious mind, literally changing your thoughts, feelings, emotions, habits, perceptions, and behaviours. Hypnosis is a process of helping you to take control of your life and master your own mind, giving you back choice so you can break through whatever holds you back.  Everything we have experienced in our life is imprinted upon our unconscious mind, and everything we do is affected by this imprint. Hypnosis helps you make the changes that you want to make so YOU can live the life YOU want to live.  Hypnosis aims to re-program patterns of unwanted thoughts and behaviours within your unconscious mind; enabling irrational fears, phobias, addictions, negative thoughts, and suppressed emotions to be overcome.  Your unconscious mind holds the key to removing those blocks and unlocking your true potential.

Hypnosis is a naturally occurring, relaxed state of mind.  We enter this natural state of mind many times throughout the day.  Hypnosis is very similar to daydreaming.  Have you ever driven from one destination to another and not remembered very much of the drive or missed your turn?  Your senses are still alert though and you are still in control; if an emergency were about to happen you would be able to react.  You were in a hypnotic trance.

Watching a movie or the television is also a hypnotic experience.  You consciously know everything is fiction, yet we laugh and cry as if the characters were real people.  Your attention is so focused on the screen that you are unaware of the environment around you; therefore suspending belief. But again, you remain in control. You may jump but you don’t run out of the movie theatre when a monster jumps out.  You were in a hypnotic trance.

When you were a child in school and found yourself daydreaming in class, wishing you could be playing with your friends, when all of a sudden the teacher calls your name, you jumped in your seat and brought you back to class.  You were in a hypnotic trance.

All hypnosis is self-hypnosis.  I merely help to facilitate your experience.  Everyone has the ability to be hypnotized.  You simply follow a series of easy instructions.  You hear and remember everything that you would from a normal conversation, and you are in control of your actions the entire process.  Hypnosis is a process of helping you take control of your life.

Hypnosis is considered one of the quickest and most effective tools available today for working with children.  The Critical Faculty of a child’s mind has not yet formed, thus making them open to new experiences and suggestions and willing to take in new information eagerly without the same rational thinking that adults have.  Hypnosis can help build your child’s self-esteem and confidence and help to develop focus and concentration as well as treat stress, anxiety, and common childhood issues such as bed wetting and growing pains.

  • N – Neurology. Connections in our brains. The information that comes in through our senses and is stored in our brain and body.
  • L – Language.  Communication with others and ourselves.  The words you choose to give meaning to, what you notice, or what you want.
  • P – Programming.  The models of the world we create.  The way we combine what we observe, what we think and what we do to generate satisfying results.

We always make the best decision available to us, the problem is, we often don’t have the choices.  NLP works at enriching your map of the world, offering more behavioural choices. The more behavioural choices, the more success. When you make changes to your behaviour in order to achieve the desired outcome, you experience your representation of the world from a different perspective.

Our brains are behavior-learning machines and are quick to learn how to automate behavior; whether good habits or bad habits.  Our brains learn by repetition.  Something we do enough times get its own neuronal pathway in the brain, becoming automatic.  The more we do or think something, the stronger the network of neuronal clusters become.   A simplified version of Hebb’s Law:  “Neurons that fire together wire together.”  “When a neuron fires it tends to make neighbouring neurons not only fire but want to fire.” This means that if your brain fires off two networks of neurons, at the same time, they will begin to wire together.  For example, if you are introduced to John, and John introduces you to his girlfriend Mary; it will be impossible for you to think of John without thinking of Mary as well. New research in neuroscience, in the area of neuroplasticity, tells us that the brain is capable of changing even the most deeply rooted patterns.  If you can interrupt a behaviour pattern and then connect that network of neuronal clusters to a more resourceful state, you are slowly dismantling the neuronal network that used to keep the unwanted behaviour active; you are working at rewiring the brain.  If we can learn something, then we can learn anything else; we can program ourselves to change!

Psy-Tap

Energy Tapping

Imagine finding rapid relief and eradicating debilitating problems in minutes from emotional distress, whether it is chronic stress, nicotine or food addictions, or a fear or phobia.  The answer is Thought Field Therapy and Emotional Freedom Technique.

I use a combination of Thought Field Therapy (TFT) and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) in my sessions. Both therapies are similar but different enough to be valued as separate.  Thought Field Therapy was developed in the 1970’s by Roger Callahan, PH.D.  and Emotional Freedom Technique was developed by Gary Craig in the early 1990’s.

TFT and EFT are both systems that facilitate healing as they access and resolve, through a combination of our thoughts and the meridian system, the essence and root cause of a problem, whether emotional or physical, a phobia, anger, a bad habit, trauma, anxiety, guilt, or grief.  These negative emotions are condensed information in energy form, which are bound in which Roger Callahan calls the Thought Field.  The active information in this Thought Field creates distress in your life, or perturbations in the Thought Field, by disrupting the body’s energy flow in the meridians, causing a psychological imbalance that sabotages your emotional well-being by controlling negative emotions and behaviour.  These perturbations may also manifest as physical symptoms in the body, such as chronic pain and inflammation.  Both TFT and EFT work by influencing your body’s bioenergy field, by tapping with your fingers, basically entering a new energetic code, on specific acupressure points on the body located along the energy meridians while focusing attention on a particular emotion or emotional problem.  The difference between the two techniques is that TFT uses a different tapping sequence, or algorithm, for each problem, whereas EFT uses the same tapping sequence for each emotion or problem.  TFT and EFT over decades, have proven, with thousands, around the world, to quickly and effectively eliminate negative emotions, in a drug-free approach to self-help.
